SENIOR PORTRAIT PORTRAIT SESSIONS AVAILABLE NOW!!!

How Do Wayfarer Senior Portrait Sessions Work?

Once we’ve agreed upon a time and date, we will start with a 1-2 hour photo session in the location(s) of your choice. We are happy to provide you with location ideas and help you determine the best place for your portraits. You are welcome to bring multiple outfit changes. Our sessions are fun and relaxed, and aimed at keeping you comfortable and natural- we’re all about documenting the real you!

After the session we will scour through our photos, find 20-30 of the best of the best, touch them up so they are perfect, and put them on a disc for you! You will have the rights to copy, print, and post these images online. Also included in your package is a print collection, including one 8x10, two 5x7’s, and 16 wallets. These prints come from a professional printer in the states and the quality is fabulous! Additional prints and photo products will be available to purchase a la carte.

What is the Investment?

While photography is a favorite past time, it is our side job. Our teaching responsibilities take priority, so we are only able to take a limited number of portrait sessions during the winter season. We want to encourage you to book your sessions early to give us plenty of time for processing, so we are offering two pricing options.

Early Bird Pricing

If your portrait session takes place by Saturday, December 11th the cost of the package is 1500 Dhs. We only have a limited number of these sessions available! First come, first served.

Last Minute Pricing

If your portrait session takes place after December 11th, the cost of the package is 2000 Dhs.

Who is Wayfarer Studio?

We are Isaac and Jennifer Marshall… ASD elementary teachers with a passion for photography! We’ve been honored to take many of your friends’ senior portraits the last few years, and we’d love to continue with you!

Baby Bump Russell

Isaac was in Qatar for an arts conference this weekend, so I was flying solo when it came time to capture some precious moments between James, Teryl, and their little baby bump- we're calling him Baby Russell since his stinker parents are keeping his name secret until he arrives! Just kidding, guys! I had such a great time with our sweet friends, as we wandered through construction sites and abandoned villas, with a final stop at the beach. We found such unique spots for photos- I LOVE the crumbly blue wall and the peeling banisters. James had several important roles during the shoot... calling out "Car!" when I was taking shots of Teryl next to a perfect blue sign (you'll see in a moment), acting as a human chair for his adorable wife, and trusting me not to make him look dorky (I hope I did ok, James!). On top of that, he made a great discovery when he came across an old picture frame behind an abandoned villa (again, you'll see in just a moment!). I was especially thrilled to take these pictures yesterday, because Teryl's baby shower was today, and I was determined to surprise her by framing some of the pictures. I sprinted the length of the Mall of the Emirates- 3 times, in pumps- to make sure I got everything I needed, but it all came together perfectly for a wonderful misty-eyed moment at the shower=). I'm so happy!
Congratulations, James and Teryl! We love you to pieces, are completely thrilled for you, and cannot wait to meet your little guy!!!

Bubbles

Last weekend ASD hosted an ultimate frisbee competition. While we were hanging out on the sidelines I was able to snap a few pictures of baby Omar. He must have known the camera was on him, because he started blowing bubbles- what a good little entertainer! As if his chubby little cheeks weren't captivating enough?!

Calyn

This weekend we had our first senior portrait shoot. Hooray! How lucky were we that it was with such a beautiful young lady?! Calyn was just as sweet as could be and was willing to go along with whatever crazy suggestion we made. We started the shoot in all of the housing rubble next to the school, and had Calyn climbing walls, wrestling with prickly foliage, and navigating through shards of glass in her flip flops- it sounds terrible- but really, it was fun! Later we drove to Jumeirah Beach Park, and meandered around the boardwalks, near the men's changing room (oops!), and through the trees. One love-struck man even followed us off the beach and asked if Calyn was a model- or "moe-del" as he pronounced it=).
Thank you so much Calyn for giving us this opportunity!!! We loved hanging out with you and hope you enjoy your photos!

Our First Post!

Welcome to our new photography and design blog!
It's pretty "bare bones" right now, but we were just itchin' to start using it. More details about our budding business and services to come... in the meantime, you can look up the definition of "wayfarer" to keep you busy, if you don't already know what it means=)...

Here are a few photo shoots from our trip home to Oregon this winter.
*I must preface that for some reason the color of the photos washes out when I upload them to the blog... frustrating... I will look into this soon. Grumble, grumble, grumble.

*Update!
Because of helpful suggestions from 2
incredibly talented photographers, Jessica Kettle and Bethany Fegles, we have vibrant pictures once again! Thank you so much for the tips ladies- you are awesome!!! Not only are we inspired by your beautiful work, but now we know you are just plain sweet and helpful as well =).
Everyone else- you must check out their blogs... they are fabulous!

Chris and Amber

We had the privilege of taking photos for Chris and Amber on their wedding day. They were absolutely adorable! We thoroughly enjoyed watching the beaming newlyweds- it was so clear that they were crazy about each other and so well matched. Their wonderful families were very welcoming, and even included us in the post-ceremony festivities!
Thank you so much Chris and Amber, and we wish you a lifetime of love, laughter, and happiness!!!

Kora Lynn
Our cousin Alicia and her husband Cody welcomed beautiful Kora Lynn into the world on December 8th! Even the harsh winter weather couldn't keep me from spending an hour with my camera in her cute little face! Instead of sleeping, like most new babies, Kora wanted to be awake and looking around. She was content to gaze out of the window while I snapped away, and made some of the funniest faces I have ever seen! I can't wait to snuggle her again this summer=).
